Investigating the Effect of Empowerment of Staffs on Organizational Citizenship Behavior of Headquarters Staffs of Iranian Tobacco Company

Abstract


This study aimed to examine the impact of employees' empowerment on organizational citizenship behavior of headquarters employees of Iranian tobacco company. The descriptive-survey research method and field research techniques are used in this study. The statistical population consisted of 739 employees of Tobacco Company and 252 people were estimated according to Cochran sampling formula. Data were collected by standardized questionnaire of empowering employees and organizational citizenship behavior. In this study, due to the standardized questionnaire, its validity was implicitly confirmed. But face validity method was used to ensure more and reliability of research tools was approved by using Cronbach's alpha. Correlation and regression tests and SPSS statistical software were used to analyze the data. The research results showed that the variable of empowering employees and its dimensions (feelings of competence, a sense of choice right, a sense of effectiveness, and meaningfulness sense) has a significant and positive effect on organizational citizenship behavior of headquarters employees of Tobacco Company.
